Our Story
After more than one dreadful experience with managing agents and landlords while renting in London, I decided to take matters into my own hands and do something about it.
When I first moved to London from Johannesburg, South Africa in 2001, I had a pretty short, sharp and rude introduction to the difficulties of renting in London.
Faults in the flat that were never fixed by the landlord? Check.
Poor response in an emergency? Check.
Problems retrieving my deposit at the end of a tenancy? Check. Check. Check.
These were only some of the problems I experienced and I soon found out I was not alone. Anyone who has ever lived for even the shortest amount of time in London generally has at least one horror story of a negligent landlord, a careless managing agent, or sub-standard living conditions.

Of course, it really doesn’t have to be this way and it is why I decided to do something about it. I set up Jo & Co Property Management to provide the quality that is just not currently available in the market. I work closely with engaged landlords who want to invest in and preserve the value of their properties, while responsibly providing high quality accommodation to tenants. I consider myself the lynchpin in establishing an effective and fair system that works for both landlord and tenant.
Working in this industry is hugely rewarding for me, helped more than a little by the fact that I have long had a passion for property. We are set up to manage everything from carrying out comprehensive tenant credit checks and fully detailed inventory lists, to proactively and efficiently dealing with property maintenance requirements. We have established a team of trusted, reliable and affordable local tradesmen who can react quickly and respond to my level of service!
I take pride in establishing close relationships with both homeowners and tenants, and I now have landlords from all over the world using my services.
